Where Can I Serve?
Jesus told us, his disciples, to make disciples of all nations. One of the most important values of Ryot Church of the Nazarene is our mission to the world. It begins in our own community, and spreads overseas to every nation. Ryot Nazarene members are involved in a variety of ministries from helping at the local food pantry to collecting and packing clothing for missions and assembling crisis care kits to be distributed in areas struck by natural disaster.
Missions
Ryot Nazarene is thrilled to be part of the spread of God’s kingdom around the world. We are active in supporting missions through our semi-annual World Evangelism Fund offerings, annual World Broakcast offering, semi-annual Alabaster offerings, and more. Our two adult Sunday School classes support children through World Vision’s Child Sponsorship program. We have participated in special ministries to raise money for special missions like the Haiti Hot Lunch Program and the World Vision 30-Hour Famine. We support our LINKS family as they serve and minister overseas in a creative access area financially and with our prayers. We currently have two upcoming Missionary Deputation Services scheduled through the upcoming year and our NMI President, Christy, will be holding special Missions Services one Sunday evening per month.
Music & Other Specials
God-honoring worship is something we strive for. Many church members get involved in our music and other specials ministry. Some are instrumentalists. Some are vocalists. Others share special readings or poetry. These volunteers are an important part of the ministry of Ryot, using their talents and gifts to glorify God.
Media & Technology
Using media to spread the gospel is a privilege of Ryot Nazarene. In an age of widespread technology, we have a stewardship to use these tools as best as possible for kingdom purposes. All of our Sunday morning Worship Services are enriched through audio and visual monitors in the Sanctuary as well as projected to the Nursery where helpers there are able to be a part of the service while administering to the needs of small children. We also maintain an active e-mail account for additional church communication such as Prayerchain and important event announcements and reminders.
Prayer Warriors
Prayer cannot be overestimated. Prayer moves the hand of God. Ryot Nazarene Church is a body of believers dependent upon prayer, and committed to God’s sovereignty. Each Sunday, at 8:30 a.m., prior to services, our Senior Pastor, along with any others who so wish, meet around the altar to pray for the ministry of the Word. Each Wednesday, the church comes together for a special time of prayer and Bible study at 6:30 p.m.
FirstLook & UpStreet
In order to provide our children an exciting atmosphere and platform to show them the love of Christ and where they can have their own real experience with Christ, Ryot Nazarene holds FirstLook and UpStreet for children ages birth through 6th grades in conjunction with teen, college and careers, and adult Sunday School classes. This special time gives kids more opportunity for interaction and learning in a context and manner that may be better suited to their age and learning styles. Our friendly FirstLook and UpStreet volunteers have an endless stream of creativity–ranging from creative Bible storytelling, to skits, to games, to object lessons, music & praise, snack, and more.
Teens
Teens who have completed 6th grade through 12th grade here at Ryot Nazarene meet Sunday evenings in the Fellowship Hall at 6:30 p.m. in conjunction with Sunday Evening Worship service in the Sanctuary. The teens are currently working toward their $1,200.00 goal in raising funds for World Vision’s 30-Hour Famine along with Nazarene Compassionate Ministries. You may be approached by one of our teens as asked to purchase Purple Potty Insurance!
